Chelsea is a mostly residential neighborhood that has a history of artists and creatives. Home of the iconic Chelsea Hotel, a once theater hub and flower district, Chelsea is now the home to the Chelsea Art Gallery District and Chelsea Market, an indoor market that features a food hall and curated shopping mall. Walking through the neighborhood with it’s handsome brownstones and small local boutiques, we highlighted some of our favorite small local businesses.

192 Books, located in the Chelsea art district, is a bookstore that strives to bring back the bookstore to what it use to represent in the community before B&N and online sites took over. Its a place for adults and children to browse and gather for weekly readings on a wide variety of subjects. They also collaborate with the galleries by exhibiting both renowned and emerging artists.
